Jefferson Township is now accepting applications for seasonal grounds maintenance crew members.
This is semi-skilled work requiring operation of various vehicles, pickups, and small dump trucks that do not require a commercial driver’s license; trucks pulling trailers with equipment/materials/supplies; and power and hand operated equipment to carry out maintenance activities in the Township. The position is seasonal in nature, meaning that the employee's hours and length of employment may vary depending on the weather and the Township's need for the tasks to be performed at any given time.
Work involves mowing, trimming, landscaping, building maintenance, landscaping, planting, and other grounds keeping activities on property owned by the Township; assisting with various repairs and maintenance of roads, berms, storm drains, ditches, and catch basins, trimming and pruning trees and other vegetation as needed; directing traffic around work areas, performing a wide variety of similar semi-skilled maintenance tasks, and other duties as assigned. Depending on skills, the holder of the position may perform or assist others in performing minor repairs on buildings, playground and recreational facilities, and other structures.
Experience with zero-turn mowers and pulling trailers required.
$14.00 - $16.00 / hour
