Jefferson Community Farmers Market Opens June 18!

Produce, bread, sweets,  breakfast rolls, flowers among the many offerings Jefferson Community Farmers Market will open for business on Saturday all summer long beginning. June 18. Market hours are 9 a.m. to noon. Jefferson Community Farmers Market is the place in northeastern Franklin County to buy the freshest produce, baked goods and other treats for your family to enjoy on the weekend. Produce is plentiful and varies from week to week, so you’ll want to come back often. It’s the ONLY Saturday morning market between Worthington and Granville, and is just a few minutes’ drive from Gahanna, Westerville, New Albany, Pataskala and Reynoldsburg, not to mention our own Jefferson Township residents. The Farmers Market is held at Jefferson Community Park, 7494 Clark State Rd. (about a mile east of Reynoldsburg-New Albany Rd). Watch for the Jefferson Community Farmers Market directional signs. Clark State travels diagonally between Morse Road in western Licking County and N. Hamilton Rd. in Gahanna. Vendors from all over central Ohio offer a large variety of farm-grown and home made goods, from lettuce, sweet corn, melons and cut flowers to bread, scones, honey and goat cheese! This year, several of them will give away large market bags to customers as long as supplies last. These bags are large enough to hold 2 dozen ears of sweet corn and then some! They’re reusable and recyclable. Ask the vendor if you qualify for a free bag. The 16 x 10 x 16 inch bags were donated by EMH&T. Special events—music, gentle alpacas and pygmy goats to pet, cooking demonstrations, a fishing derby, displays of antique fire engines and John Deere tractors, and more, will take place during the Farmers Market so you won’t want to miss a single Saturday morning. Check this website or your local community newspapers for the schedule! Again this year, the Jefferson Township Parks Board will sell cold bottled water and Jefferson Township tee shirts. Large, reusable market bags will be for sale this year. Proceeds from the sales support the Farmers Market and other park activities. Stop by the Parks Board booth every Saturday to enter the weekly drawing. There will be a prize each Saturday, and all entries are eligible for the grand prize awarded on the final day of the market—October 1.
