Who is responsible for repairing sidewalks?
In Jefferson Township, sidewalks are generally the responsibility of the abutting property owner. The Township adopted a sidewalk policy in 2017 to provide a consistent procedure for evaluating the need for the construction, repair and/or maintenance of sidewalks.
Residents interested in repairing sidewalk sections abutting their property will need to apply for a Right-of-Way permit through the zoning and building department. https://www.jeffersontownship.org/Additional-Services/Apply-For-A-Permit
Residents interested in reporting damaged or unsafe sidewalk sections can submit a service ticket HERE for review by the service department.
