Administration Office Open

The Jefferson Township Administration Office at 6545 Havens Road is open for in-person visits, however business will be conducted from the front vestibule. Face coverings are required. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, closed Friday. Many staff are working a hybrid at-home in-office schedule, please consider contacting us via phone or email, or requesting a virtual meeting before visiting in-person. Due to the ongoing public health emergency and in accordance with HB 404, the Board of Trustees of Jefferson Township (Franklin County, Ohio) will hold all regularly scheduled meetings entirely via teleconference until further notice. Special meetings will also be held via teleconference and will be properly noticed if scheduled. The virtual meetings can be accessed by the media and public using the instructions below. Fire & EMS

The Jefferson Township Fire Department will continue to respond to the needs of our residents and businesses throughout the duration of this pandemic. In order to ensure the health and safety of our firefighter/paramedics, we are asking the public to please avoid non-emergency visits to the fire station. Jefferson Township parks, restrooms, and playgrounds are open.

Shelter house rentals will not be accepted through the remainder of 2020.

We ask all park visitors to keep each other safe by maintaining six feet of social distancing, wearing masks when possible, and maintaining good hand hygiene. Playground equipment and other high touch surfaces will not be sanitized regularly, therefore user discretion is advised.

Residential Waste Collection
Effective the week of May 11, 2020: Waste Management is resuming bulk collection. Bulk items include furniture, mattresses, carpet and appliance. Please know that due to anticipated heavy volumes, some bulk items may be picked up on additional days following your regular pickup day. In addition to bulk items, a reasonable number of bags or containers outside the Waste Management cart will also be collected.

Effective Tuesday, April 28, 2020: 
Waste Management is resuming regular (every other week) yard waste collection. The suspension of the collection of bulk items such as furniture, mattresses, appliances, etc. and any items outside your trash or recycling carts remains in place until further notice. Residents east of Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road will have yard waste collected on April 28; residents west of Reynoldsburg-New Albany will have yard waste collected on May 5.

March 18, 2020: Waste Management has temporarily closed residential call centers. Waste Management is actively establishing remote operations for its call center employees to re-establish call center operations as soon as possible.

Service Department

Tax Collection Deadlines

The deadline for Federal and State income tax filing and payment has been extended to July 15, 2020. Jefferson Township does not collect a local income tax. 

In an effort to assist Franklin County residents through the challenges of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Franklin County Treasurer’s Office has moved the due date for 2nd half real estate property tax collection 45 days from June 22, 2020 to August 5, 2020. The Franklin County Treasurer’s Office hopes that the extra time helps taxpayers who are struggling with money problems during this difficult time. Taxpayers should receive their tax bill in the mail by July 3, 2020. Taxpayers who get their tax bill by email should receive the bill by June 23, 2020. Zoning and Building

Applications: The Zoning and Building Department is open to in-person visits, however we encourage contacting staff by phone or email before visiting in person. If visiting in person, masks are required. All Residential Zoning Permit Applications, Right-of-Way Excavation Permits, and Applications to the Board of Zoning Appeals and Zoning Commission can be completed through the Jefferson Township Zoning and Building Portal. Email cmccroskey@jeffesontownship.org to request a Commercial Building Permit Application.
